I am based in Scotland and have been conducting Funerals, Wedding Blessings and Baby Namings for several years now.
I retired from the Army in 1997 and trained as a Toastmaster and have been involved in the formal duties of a Toastmaster ever since.
It was put to me that the skills of a Toastmaster could be applied to Civil Celebrancy. I took up the challenge and, after training with the UK College of Celebrancy, realised that this was something I really wanted to do.
Having lost both my parents and my brother in recent years I am able to empathise fully with the berieved families that I encounter. I am able to provide them with a service which is tailored to their requirements and which also takes into account the beliefs and philosophies of the deceased.
I have also had the great joy of conducting both Wedding Blessings and Baby Namings, though not on the same day – yet!
I have been asked to officiate abroad and also to use my linguistic skills at home for foreign couple seeking a different wedding experience.
I am a Founding Member of the Scottish Independent Celebrants’ Association.
I look forward to serving you and your families in whatever capacity would be appropriate.
