Weddings

Our Celebrants offer wedding and civil partnership ceremonies; beautifully tailored wedding services, designed with you, the couple, to reflect your individual needs and beliefs to create a memorable ceremony.  A wedding ceremony conducted by one of our Independent Celebrants gives you complete freedom to create something truly meaningful to you; with as much or as little religious or spiritual content as you wish.

The vows you make on your wedding day will be utterly personal to you; your Celebrant will help you frame the words you want to say to make your commitment to each other.  Readings, music and contributions from family and friends can be included in the Ceremony to create a wholly unique celebration; every aspect of the wedding is entirely your personal choice.

Legal Matters: In Scotland, a legal marriage may be conducted by a Religious Celebrant (eg a Minister or Priest) by a a Registrar or a Humanist.  In choosing a wedding with an Independent Celebrant, it will generally be necessary to undertake the legal formalities at a Register Office – two witnesses will be required and papers signed.  This can be arranged to take place before the couple’s personalised ceremony.

SICA is currently in negotiations to allow Independent Celebrants conduct the legal formalities themselves, which in the future will avoid the need for a separate trip to the Register Office.
